Friday is the greatest day of the week for a whole slew of reasons, not the least of which is a pile of brand spankin’ new music ready for consumption. It’s Record Release Friday baby! Let’s dig in to Milk Crater’s top 5 records released today.

1All Across This Land – Blitzen Trapper

The title track off Blitzen Trapper’s new album is everything you want and need from them. It doesn’t matter if you fancy rock, country or the indie scene – you will be a happy camper. So grow your beard, play your guitar and get it!

2Unbreakable – Janet Jackson

After practically falling off the face of the earth for what seemed like forever, Janet (Ms. Jackson if you’re nasty) is back with her first album in seven years. Sit back and reminisce about the good old Jackson days and dance like no one is watching. Plus, MISSY!

3V – Wavves

There is a lot to be excited about for the new Wavves album. Hot guitar licks, fantastic melody and just enough rock-pop to get your day going. Metal, wrestling and a song about hipsters? SOLD!

4Zipper Down – Eagles of Death Metal

Back after a seven-year album hiatus (hanging with Janet??), Zipper Down is full of the muscle and grit you’d expect from EODM. There are many noteworthy tracks, but the accompanying video for Silverlake (K.S.O.F.M.) is too good to not post.

5South – Hippo Campus

This little EP (true EP- it is 5 songs) will have you dancing in your seat while you’re sitting in traffic. Oh wait… maybe that’s just me. Not sure Hippo Campus is the band for you? Check out this cover of ELO’s Don’t Bring Me Down performed at the A.V. Club. If you can’t get behind that, you can’t be helped.
